Pierce was a prime example of how you don’t necessarily have to be uber athletic/fast to be a great scorer, but rather how having impeccable footwork and the ability to separate/create space is what separates the elite scorers.

As someone who had the pleasure of watching his career I feel like he is one of the most underrated disrespected and under appreciated players in the history of the NBA. In New England we know The Truth.

I love PPs game. Nothing flashy. Just tough. Could score from anywhere on the floor. Clutch. Deadly. Big time. Never shrunk in big moments. Showed up in the big games. I am a Heat fan so I hated Boston during that rivalry but Paul Pierce was and always will be one of my favorite players. This highlight vid is missing some of his classic games against Iverson's Sixers in the playoffs. Pierce had some big time performances in that rivalry. Salute to the Truth.

He had great range as a shooter, but he was an absolute nightmare in the paint.

At any moment he could drive for a layup, pull up for a floater or a jumper at the elbow, step back for a jump shot or pump fake, make a spin move to the basket OR pull up for a jumper, and last but not least, back down his defender with a post up. And on top of all that, if any of these moves draw contact, he could still finish and get to the line for an extra shot.

His scoring game had little weakness.

When they talk about players who can play in any era, Pierce fits that mold. Just due to his offensive repertoire

He never, ever exerts more energy than is necessary to complete the play; not a product of laziness, but brilliance.

I love how the team is so confident the shot is going in that they're already rushing the other hoop before the ball is even dropping towards the hoop.

I have been saying .paul pierce is one unique guy who can score without athletism . He put all the basic tgt to make easy buckets . Cant imagine if he had a very athletic body

Not the most athletic player but in his prime could do whatever he liked on the court. Top 25 in the NBA's career list in minutes played, 3-pointers made (fifth), free-throws made (eight), steals and points. A first ballot hall of famer.

Pierce was a top 7 or 8 player from 2001-2008. 26 ppg, amazing in elimination games. He dropped 46 in game 5 in best of 5 vs philly (talking bout practice. .)

It's amazing how he is slow but at the same time tricks players like he doing a crossover.

Paul is absolutely offensive machine. His plays is like the art of scores. The footwork, tough plays, especially the 2+1 & 3+1 plays...

great highlights... the only thing missing is all the clutch shots and game winners he's hit throughout his career

Its crazy you can look at him right now and couldn't even tell he was a monster on the court. Seen this guy make plenty clutch shots and silent the crowd at away games. Miss watching him play!

Paul always reminded me of a more athletic Glen Rice, appeared chubby but was quick asf off the ball, he would thrive in the game today without question
