Paul was my favorite player growing up. I loved watching him and James battle each other in the playoffs. He made the King leave his team and then almost beat him when he came back with his Super team. If he had more help earlier in his career he would have more championships.

Pierce was THE reason to watch the Celtics for a decade and then was the de facto best player on the original superteam in '08. Pierce could have had a Kobe like or LeBron like career if he had the opportunity to draw in free agents like the Lakers do, or left Boston to join up with other stars like LeBron did twice (about to be 3 times). He stayed loyal to his fans until they traded the whole team for KG and got Ray Allen to sign (biggest free agent ever until Horford and Allen was well past his prime), then Pierce showed us what he could do with talent around him. His teams were so bad that in '07 when he went down the team had the worst season in franchise history (and still only got the 5th pick when they should have had #1 or #2 to get Kevin Durant, I still wonder what a Paul Pierce, young KD, Perkins, Rondo, Al Jefferson team would have done) with only 18 or 19 wins.

I'm a die hard laker fan and use to hate him but he's a great no doubt, the way the Boston fans showed love to Kobe on his Last appearance at the TD garden I felt like we should have showed him that love when he came to staples . I miss those Black mamba vs the truth match ups 😔😔
