on my PC, this option is turned off already but the EA Backround Service is running anyway.

you should add that after disabling, it still runs on start up and stays in the background unless you manually stop it

I found it. its connected to a windows service.
Windows key --> type in services --> click on the services app
new windows opens --> click in it --> type "e" to navigate to the "EABackgroundService" --> right click --> properties --> change start type to "manually"

and this is why everybody shits on origin / ea desktop. annoying as hell.

Yeah that was already disabled in my EA App and it still shows the EA Backround service or Origins Backround service running in the task bar when both are disabled even on startup!!! What am I doing wrong?

im trying to delete the app and its off but it says its not off

I already wanted to do the same, but I noticed that it began to get out of the Task Manager itself - the first time the process hung for a long time, for more than an hour, I wanted to clean it up in the "services", but I was distracted by something else and I look - the process disappeared itself after about an hour or more.... I tried again - now the process itself is quickly cleaned up, it turns out there is no need to change anything in the "services" - I just had to wait for the first time

я уже хотел делать так же, но заметил, что стало само убираться из Диспетчера задач - первый раз долго висел процесс, больше часа, хотел в "службах" его убирать, но что то отвлекся на другое и смотрю - процесс пропал сам спустя примерно час или больше.... Попробовал еще раз - теперь быстро процесс сам убирается, оказывается не надо ничего в "службах" менять - просто надо было подождать первый раз

That DO NOT work: setting automatic to manually is not working, the background service starts again and again

MY WHOLE PROBLEM IS THEIR FORCING ME TO USE EA PLAY BUT I CAN"T PLAY ANYTHING WITH EA BACKGROUND PROCESS OPEN!! It chews through my bandwidth and my ping skyrockets on every game...I can't even get my money back so I can go to steam...

I don't even use origin and never have yet somehow have the background service on my PC
