How to unlock Aadhaar Biometric?

There are two ways to lock and unlock Aadhaar biometric data online – through UIDAI’s portal and through mAadhaar app.

mAadhaar is the official app of UIDAI. Both the methods are safe, secure and fast. You can access them 24×7 to protect your Aadhaar biometrics.

In this video, I am going to show you how to unlock biometrics details online without OTP. Follow these steps to unlock biometric details in Aadhaar through the mAadhaar app:

Open your Aadhaar profile in the app

Click On the 'Lock Sign' in red at the top right corner of the app.

Now enter your aadhaar profile password.

Now click on the lock sign to unlock your biometric. Your biometric would be unlocked for 10 mins only. After that biometric would be locked again.

The aadhaar biometric would be locked again after 10 mins.

What happens when biometrics is locked?

You won't be able to use your biometric like thumb impression, eye scanner, fingerprints etc for any kind of verification purpose online. Generally biometric is used while getting a new sim connection, opening bank account, demat account etc. So, you have to send hard copy of your aadhaar copy for the verification purpose.
