I love this ending where he must be gutted to be throwing out all that expensive wine he spent his entire life collecting, all because he could taste a difference in wine nobody else could.

One of the nice things about the series was that the villains weren't all cut from the same cloth. Carsini was almost relieved he was caught, chuckling at the irony of he himself giving Columbo the proof. Sometimes the killers are depraved, sometimes greedy, sometimes monsters. Once in a while, you almost feel sorry for them.

Top acting as usual in this episode, great performance from Donald Pleasance. So many great actors contributed to this wonderful programme making it the top detective series ever.

The best part was Columbo giving him the bottle at the end

This is one of my favorites. I love how they share a bottle of Chianti, I believe, outside his winery before his departure. Columbo brought along the bottle to share a glass with him. I really love that.

The wine may have been liquid filth but Columbo was on vintage form.

this is one of my favourite episodes, I really love this killer because he's not inherently malevolent and after the murder everything just spirals out of control for him

One of the most touching Columbo episodes. You actually feel sorry for Carsini, and it certainly shows in Columbo's true respect for him.

(This is Tom, not Sandra.)
This episode is my favorite 'Columbo ' episode, ever!!!! Even Mr. Falk mentioned that it was his personal favorite, also. Mr. Pleasance was so great in this show. Even Mr. Falk mentioned he had a great time in this episode. Mr. Pleasance was not an arrogant villian like say....
R. Culp or J. Cassidy or
W. Shatner was in all of their episodes. They were complete opposites to Mr. Pleasance's quiet demeanor, IMO.

2:10. It sounds like he said " You have no idea. It's like uh..." It sounds like it was edited before he made his comparison to what it's like and tried to make it sound like he said "You have no idea what it's like."

This one is #1 for many people and though I like it, it really bothers me how his brother died such a torturous death. It was unusually cruel for a Colombo episode.

I love how each bottle makes the same smashing sound effect 😂
