Just a quick look at what I carry in my heavy-duty, more robust haversack. This kit can operate as a stand-alone pack but can also be placed into a larger pack to supplement other gear to have a more inclusive kit.

Finally a real fire kit. I think you would like the brass fire kit. With the magnified glass built in. But keep the cap on.

I'm impressed with how organized your haversack is. I was surprised there was only a bandana for purifying water other than fire. It can be done, but I would prefer to have at least a Lifestraw or Sawyer handy. You have a very nice kit put together. I live in Ohio. So far this summer has been quite chilly. Hahaha I wrote this just before you said you need to add a water filter. It's awesome your wife helps with videotaping and editing.

Nice kit, I would add a small fishing kit, frog gig head and a med kit with some trauma items and I do agree a sawyer water filter system with some iodine because it's for wounds and can disinfect water at the right ratio..

The loadout is definitely organized & neat. My EDC haversack gear is happening along small, flat pouches. Found a similar to the Coalcracker at the local Salvation Army store, made out of cotton/jutte bled with a top loading brass zipper which turned out to be YKK. And for $1.50! Have you seen The Wild Buck Outdoors side bag system? It's definitely closer to how you like to carry. Made in Europe at affordable prices.

Nice kit! I'd throw in a compass, map of the area, note pad, pacing beads and a large orange shirt or signal panel to use as a way point marker or signaling device.

I’ve always wondered how good those pathfinder Haversack’s were. Glad you did this video.

Hello! This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on a haversack set up, great kit. One question; regarding the Coal Cracker pouch is. Is this the 8.5”L X 6” H, or the 7.5” L X 5.5” H ? It looks like you have the 8.5” X 6”. Is that right? Thanks and I’ve subbed your channel!
