Digimon Adventure - Low Level Part 8: MetalEtemon

It might be strange that I'm highlighting this battle of all the boss fights in the challenge, but I must've had more resets here than in most other fights of the run besides maybe 2 or 3 others, so it makes sense to emphasise what was going on here with a separate video.

You might remember we faced Etemon before (MetalGreymon walloped him) but now he's in his Mega form... so is SaberLeomon however, available in this boss fight as a guest, as is Ogremon for some reason.

SaberLeomon starts the battle with "only" 2K HP, probably to reflect how he was wounded in the storyline, while Ogremon is a bit healthier. Surprisingly, Leomon isn't significantly (if at all) more useful than Ogremon in this fight in spite of being Mega, though he does have an attack+ to all buff. Ogremon sometimes procs Anger when receiving damage so his damage potential is often the best in the party.

The only controllable character in the fight is Zudomon. To my dismay, his skill/stat boost grid was kinda hard to exploit, so he didn't get many of the highly useful skills and/or stat boosts.

The strategy is simple, yet hard to successfully implement and guide the battle to a victorious end. Zudomon attempts to keep everyone alive, including himself, mostly by means of healing. Stray criticals and just really powerful blows from MetalEtemon can KO Zudomon with ease, leaving just the two guests standing. They can still finish the battle without Zudomon, but they lose whatever unreliable means of survival they had.

Buffs are more or less a lost cause here as MetalEtemon has that one banana attack that sorta "dispels" them. Still, if Ogremon manages to keep a biiiig attack boost from Anger / SaberLeomon's buff, we make a bigger step towards winning the fight.

One of the fights really made a lot more difficult by the low level direction of the run.
