Minor detail, but one that I appreciate a lot: Thank you for using plain cards in your deck lists. It's a lot easier for me recognize the cards to build for myself, since I don't have most of the special illustrations.

I've been having some huge success with the Starmie/Lumineon deck. It can really punch above its weight class against the more established meta decks. The low retreat costs deny your opponent any meaningful points and Lumineon can snipe a badly hurt EX pokemon from the bench with relative ease. Loads of fun so far

Cool vid. Glad to see that there are some changes to the meta - more interesting things to watch than Mewtwo vs Gyarados.

I'm actually really impressed with the level of balance that was introduced with the mini expansion. I was a little worried about Celebi, but that trend diminished pretty quickly and made way for a lot of cool new deck builds, along with a revitalization of some lesser decks from the first expansion. The dominance of Mewtwo and Misty are still a bit of a problem, but the meta rotation has been consistently exciting. I hope (and expect) things will only get better, but I'm really happy with the variety so far.

Llving these meta reports, helped me find my favorite deck in the format with the strong fighting core of hitmonlee and marshadow, keep these up they are amazing

Been running Starmie/Lumineon with Vaporeon as the 3rd and no Misty. The free retreats combined with washout makes the deck feel absurdly flexible and hard to play around. That being said I have lost quite a few games to being stuck on Eevee as my starting basic.
Once in a blue moon Eevee will do monster damage and it's hilarious.

Having swapped to playing the galvantula pikachu version a week or so ago, it absolutely has staying power. 2 zapados always felt awkward when drawn together, so I think it's natural we see people moving away from it especially with tauros creeping upwards. As Arbok showed in GA, the ability to prevent retreats is incredibly powerful, especially when combined with a deck that naturally wants 2 sabrina. having a backup aggressive attacker when pikachu is hiding can win games when your key piece is missing, and the way joltik/gavlantula lines up into the mythical birds, froakie, farfetched, and staryu is an additional factor.

Loving how the meta is changing. Blastiose and Char storming in seems great. Galvantula seems like good tech and I myself thought Volcarona would be best paired with Motres and Arcanine. But being a secondary attacker in Charizard decks makes alot of sense.

Thanks Jeff for another in-depth video!! Pikachu ex is the most consistent for me, whether I run with galvantula or electrode, or even with jolteon I’m still getting that 50% win rate.

Blastois EX is awesome. Really, I’m glad it’s rising in the meta. This is one of my favorite pokemon pocket channels.

I've found a lot of success with Moltres/Charizard/Arcanine. Plays perfectly into Celebi or Gyarados, as well as any other stall deck that lets be accumulate energy for my bench. Plus, being able to one-shot Hitmonlee and Marshadow with Moltes + Giovanni allows me to put pressure on my opponent if they're running those decks. It honestly feels like the most versatile meta deck, along with Pika/Zapdos/Raichu, in Pocket right now.

5:01 I had already put this Volcarona / Char variant together before seeing this video - once I got my hands on a second Moltres EX from the Premium Pass Promo drop. I only have one copy of Arcanine EX so building the Larvesta line seemed a natural second best option.

With one variation - I've been running one Sabrina in place of an X-Speed. It's been relatively successful for me! One thing I've really appreciated is the hugh HP pool of Volcarona - it often is able to tank a hut or two while dealing versatile and meaningful damage across the board while only giving up a single prize point in return - thus I prioritize landing at least four energy on it with Moltres before swappiig it in to guarantee i get at least two hits with it.

With this and the Lumineon video, I'm starting to wonder if thumbnail guy has started binging Bleach.
