For the first time in history, a same-sex wedding was held in the British Antarctic Territory, near the South Pole. Stephen Carpenter and Eric Bourne have been partners for 20 years and both serve as stewards on the RRS Sir David Attenborough. They were wed in a small ceremony on April 24 by the ship's captain, with approx 30 members of the crew in attendance.
