Gross motor milestones in infants -- sitting unassisted, standing, walking -- might have importance beyond baby-book fodder, according to a study in the journal Pediatrics. In this 150-second analysis, MedPage Today clinical reviewer F. Perry Wilson, MD, MSCE, takes a closer look.

He’s saying that the study wasn’t strong enough to conclude or Tell us that later walking leads to developmental delays. The found that one thing that showed maybe some correlation was later standing with assistance. But even that wasn’t very good. Basically you are fine if your kid walks late

I don’t think it really means much. My sons both walked at around 13 months.. but didn’t say that many words by 18 months.

In comparison, my daughter is 18 months old now and not walking, but she says so many words and is trying to sing songs etc..

They really seem to match the stereotypes that boys reach physical milestones sooner whereas girls meet verbal milestones sooner.

My daughter was 2 weeks premature.. so I figure she’s got a couple more weeks here to get the walking going. She has taken steps.. say 4 or so at a time but then sits down. It’s like she doesn’t feel confident.. and wants to be sure before continuing. She crawls up and down the stairs no problem, etc.. walks all around the living room table, holding on.

She also does other things my sons didn’t.. like she will put her toys away when she’s done or when she sees a cloth, she will start wiping the table etc. Very interesting to watch.

I hope she walks soon. I don’t want her to face challenges of course.. but.. I’m also glad my only daughter and last baby is staying a baby as long as she can.. ❤

I didn't walk until i was 2 because my stomach mussels weren't connected. The Drs said they couldn't do anything about it and that if I'm ment to walk mother nature would make sure of it.

Not clear at all, he should spoon feed people first, and using plain language. Not everybody is genius.

So there is no conclusive evidence that suggests issues with walking later on? Smh

It’s hard to understand because.. studies are often kind of useless because of the methodology and sampling used.

He started opening parentheses and parentheses and parentheses without properly explaining each part of what he was supposed to teach us. Sorry pal. Bad video,
