"analyzing something is dividing it into its component parts" - Tim Richardson. This is a very powerful and useful video. Thank you for sharing this!

Part of analyzing something is to understand what is being analyzed. By breaking it up into parts, it makes it easier to see what exactly it is that you're looking at and understand the core problems that need to be addressed. Then using critical thinking to make sense of it. Breaking into smaller chunks makes that entire process easier.

By breaking down larger concepts into smaller, more manageable pieces, we can gain a deeper understanding of how each component contributes to the whole. Breaking things down can also make it easier to communicate our ideas to others. If we present information in a clear, organized manner, we can help others understand our thought processes and the conclusions we've reached.

In every single course taught by Prof. Richardson, the idea of dividing a question or idea into parts always comes up several times in the semester. I've found this technique works well on exams and tests in which professors may ask several interrelated questions in one big paragraph. Also, like Prof. Richardson has said many times in class, this technique is helpful during job interviews. -- Dilpreet Singh MGD426

"If anybody asks you a question.. You will sound intelligent when you divide it into parts". This tip by you is very helpful Professor Tim. And also, when you said that it is easier for others to understand it when we divide it into parts, I remembered many instances where this actually worked, specially at the workplace. Very useful content. Thanks Professor. Rami Abdul-Khalek. MRK460SAA.

Yeah this is very helpful when writing tests and essays. It actually gives you more content to speak about in the most concise way, rather than just going in circles saying the same things.

This video is very useful. Dividing things into parts in any situation can make the project seem much more easier and also make it easier to incorporate feedback. In the Scrum project management methodology, projects are divided into small parts and executed in short "sprints". A key benefit of using a methodology such as this is that you can incorporate feedback from instructors, peers, and team members in future iterations.

When it comes to essay and test papers, it is never a good idea to answer multiple questions in one sentence. It is always better to divide the answer properly so it is clear which questions are being answered and where.

This video was quite beneficial. Understanding what is being examined is an important part of the analysis process. It's simpler to grasp what you're gazing at and identify the main concerns that need to be fixed when you break it down into sections. Then use reflective practice to decipher it. The entire procedure is made easier by breaking it down into smaller portions.

I agree with Dilpreet below, who mentioned that Professor Richardson heavily emphasizes his students to divide everything into parts, especially when they’re doing their assignments and writing exams. This helps the professor to be able to digest all the information and is a way to organize information. Moreover, Professor Richardson’s advice in almost every class is to highlight each section of the parts you’ve divided when writing an exam, so it’s a lot faster to read and comprehend. This video on analysis is extremely helpful because I’ve applied this to a real life situation recently. I had an interview where I was required to answer multiple questions within one big question. By dividing each part into sections not only helped my thought process but also helped the interviewer gain a better understanding as to what I was trying to exemplify.

This is a really well illustrated point. Especially when students are expected to answer a specific question about a very broad company. It is a lot easier to understand the company, no matter what type, if its processes are broken up and individually analyzed. It's kind of like putting pieces of the puzzle together; once something is understood, you can keep moving forward, building on it, and finally you will be able to see the big picture. I also find that this video relates to the top-down analysis/bottom-up analysis entrepreneurs do before starting up their business/venture/idea. It helps to break things into manageable components, thus making it easier to understand to deem feasible or not.

That example made me realize how important it is to break down the bigger picture into smaller, individual parts and then from there, analyze each specific part to make your analysis clear and cohesive. Very good points here. Thanks for the post.

Hi Professor. To analyze is to study or determine the nature and connections between the parts of (something). When you are analyzing, it is incredibly helpful and effective to divide everything into its component parts. Additionally, it is quite simple for others to comprehend. Thank you, Professor, for this useful content.

Really good point about analyzing something. Divide the problem in to different parts. It will be easier to analyze them one by one first, then combine them together. Just like writing an essay, you need who, where, when, what those components to write a good essay. You can also analyze the issue based on 6E. MGSC44 Cheng Shi
