Generally the companies which manufacture the crowns, they provide a warranty for the crown. However the warranty is going to be for the crown and not for the tooth. But it depends on the material being chose, what kind if assessment and the treatment being done, what is the quality of the tooth before the treatment is being done, all these things determine the longevity of the crown. It also depends on how you use. You can’t have a crown inside your mouth and then bite onto something unnatural, like open a bottle of beer, or bit onto ice, or bite onto stone, because the crown has its own limitations. You have to understand how to maintain. Maintain the oral hygiene. Just because you have a crown doesn’t mean that you do not brush your teeth, no flossing, these kind of things will compromise the health of the crowns as well as the teeth that is existing in the mouth already. Second thing is how you use your crown, what you want, what you bite, what you do with it. Third thing is if there is a trauma, if there is a fall by the patient, then there is a chance that it breaks the crown or it breaks the tooth. Every 6 months you need to check for the oral hygiene. All these will add to the life of the crown as well as your teeth.
