Some fans are straight up stupid.
1. They too consumed by the fan arts and theories and didn't consider the fact that this man is OLD. No old character in OP (WB, Rayleigh, Garp, etc) maintaining their original hair colour, they turned into white/grey in the end.
2. Even if his hair isn't red and he indeed Shanks' father, then Shanks could've inherited the hair colour from the mother side.
3. If he isn't Shanks' father, Shanks would still be a Figarland (mentioned in OP Red, I know it's not canon but Oda literally supervised that movie so..).

Just wait until chapter 1095-1096 got animated y'all. They show young Garling there. If his hair is indeed re, then we got the answer here. But if it turned out something else, then my point stands.
