Women weren't allowed on Tiger cruises because there were no female accommodations on board Navy vessels until the "modern"navy of the '80's. Also, Navy rotates sailors to various duty stations so it would be very unlikely that someone aboard in the 60's (or 70's) would still be aboard.

I am a retired US Navy Senior Chief and am appalled at how badly the movie wardrobe people messed up the placement of medals and ribbons on the uniformed Navy men and women by placing them above the right pocket instead of the left where they belong. Sheesh.
