Also, GRADING! I teach reading and students do lots of lengthy structured answers, so an iPad allows me to grade it just like I was writing directly on their Google doc or good slides. The Google classroom app lets you put an ink layer over the document, and saves the graded work as a pdf. When you’ve finished grading and marking the pages, It attaches the entire thing as a pdf right to the assignment your grading on GC. It’s just like grading with paper, and love the freedom to use editing marks and it lets me write comments directly on the document rather than depending on students to look over an attached rubric for details. Love it!

My favorite way to use my iPad Pro is to load PDFs of whatever text we’re reading to GoodNotes so I can put my guided questions, notes, answers, etc into the Marlins. It’s easier to hold my iPad then the novel, textbook or even several sheets of paper. As we read, I have all the things I need right there on the document.

I got an iPad last Christmas and it's been a game changer! I take attendance, check in my lms, run class dojo, look at my digital planner (it's awesome! Thanks Michelle) and can quickly check my email without sitting at my desktop. 👏🏾 The possibilities are endless!

I know this is an older video but I just need to tell you how much I appreciate you and Bridget! I am an elementary school teacher who has greatly benefitted from your technology videos.
I'm heartbroken about Jamboard shutting down, as it has been my daily lesson board/slides since 2020. I'm going to search your other videos to try to find an alternative so I can plan over the upcoming summer. Sending you and Bridget so many thanks for the work you both do to help teachers! 🥰

OK, I'm convinced. I've always been old school, paper and pen for most of this stuff, but the organizational aspect of using your iPad for all of this is undeniable. Thank

I needed this. I’m a new TA and I have been brining my iPad in everyday to try and use it more. This will help a lot. Thank you !

This is an amazing video. The ipad and pencil have been life savers during remote teaching last year and I still use them this school year. Thank you for these incredible tips!

I love using my iPad in the classroom. The teachers at my school use a program called air server. It allows me to project my iPad on any computer and thus on the board for my students to see.

As a 4th grade teacher trying to walking around the class and show my work at the same time, I am excited to try the Jamboard to project on the screen. I use a doc cam bc I like these new ways to use the iPad. I've been trying to plan my lesson on a planner but it hasn't work, and I think this is my sign to use a digital planner!! Thank you!!

I was really thinking of getting an iPad or tablet - you've made it so much easier to make the decision. I love the idea of walking around the room and annotating on your room while students can see it on the board - this would help manage behaviour problems as well which tend to happen when I'm tied to the front of the room for majority of the day

TY for this. I now have an iPad and have been trying to use it more in my classroom. These tips are great and I will put some of them into use on Monday. One thing I do use the iPad for is assessments and viewing my slides from the students view.

Perfect timing! I’ve been trying to figure out which ipad to buy and how I can best use it as a teacher ☺️ TY!

For some reason it never occured to me that I could project the slides (or whatever) on the board from the regular computer and use my iPad to annotate or show work. Such a genius idea! I will definitely have to remember that.

I’ve been using my iPad for 3 years now to teach math. I have an Apple Pencil however I don’t use it at school because it’s too expensive. I bought a cheap one from Amazon and it works just as good. If I lose it I won’t be too heart broken.

I am not an Apple person, but I do have a chromebook with a touchscreen that I can fold in half and use like a tablet. I think many of these tips could be used on my chromebook too. (I already use it for running Nearpod.)

Thank for another great video. I teach virtually -reading interventions one-on--one. I use my iPad on Zoom share my screen. I put the book we are reading on the iPad. It allows me to enlarge text. I also use split screen with Good Notes so I can write words we are working on and then we can read them in the text.

I have an iPad mini. I think I will need to start using it more for student anecdotal note taking. I use it a lot for meetings, but not as much directly in the classroom. Thanks for a great video and Happy Thanksgiving!
