What a blessed redeemer and forerunner we have as our Savior tempted like we are but without sin.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (February 21, Lent 1), Mark 1:9-15 was our Gospel of the Day. One title for this Scripture could be called "Tough Love From God." What is He saying to Jesus? "You are My Beloved Son. You are My Delight, ....NOW GET TO WORK!"

How come RC says "Jesus goes thirty days without food..." ? (at 16:50)

Was this just a slip?

I read "forty days"

One thing omitted is the symbol of being born of water and spirit to become a new man. In His case the new Adam.
