Modify aftermarket injectors to fit fuel rail

Out with the old 290cc injectors and in with the Siemens Deka 55lb units. The issue was they are too big to fit in the fuel rail, I'd rather modify the injector than the fuel rail. So after doing a test run on a bosch injector in the first clip, this is that I ended up with.

Why did I pick this injector? For an ECU I'm running an #aem #series2 ems, very few injectors in the wizard. I have some high impedance 850cc I could have used but not in the wizard, too complicated figuring out dead times and battery offset. I searched locally for somebody selling an #injector in the aem wizard. I found these for $150, they were new. The seller said if I drove all the way out he would take $120, perfect!! So rather then ordering and waiting for injector top hats I decided to bang this off. And of course I searched it and could not find a video of somebody doing it. I wasn't going to upload it because of the shaky video... well I just did.

Well, see the new injectors in action in the previous video. Had to pretty much retune the whole fuel but they do idle better than the smaller injector they replaced.

Brilliant! Surprised how well that worked. I think I woulda used a dremel myself as that's what I have. I had to look away with the shaky video. LOL. Great thinking though. Glad it's worked out.
