YES. My teacher did not spend enough time on this. The concept isn't that hard when using the axes, but rotating around anything other that either axis is pretty difficult.

It's unfortunate because if you can't draw or visualize properly with this stuff it throws everything off

what happens when the axis of rotation in this case y=3 is in the range of both functions? what if it wanted to rotate about y=3?

Wouldnt the outer radius be 4 + the outer function? Since the function goes under the x axis?
