A washer is a thin plate with a hole (typically in the middle) that is normally used to distribute the load of a threaded fastener, such as a bolt or nut.

Great video! I love all the YouTubers making math more easily understood. Just a point of clarification... "Washer" refers to a fastener used in combination with a bolt and nut, not a washing machine.
