RIP Jeff Beck. A virtuoso guitarist. Surfs Up at the Wang is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard live.

Not many guitar players would have the guts to take on
one of Brian Wilson's best melodies and give it an instrumental take-
but Beck is fearless!! This is a perfect illustration of his most profound gift-
taking a great melody and just playing the hell out of it. The tone he gets
out of a simple Strat +Marshall amp( w/ very little FX )using his THUMB as a pick,
is nothing short of Mind-Boggling! ! I just saw this show at the House of Blues in Chicago a few days ago, and it was phenomenal.

I was sitting near where this video was shot. All I can say is this is one of the best performances of music I have ever seen or heard. Goosebumps.

First started listening to music in the 60's. Loved the Beach Boys as well

Just love this great Brian Wilson melody and Jeff certainly does it justice. His guitar tone; the range of sounds he produces; and his feel for the music, is just unbeatable.
I don't use the term lightly but Brian Wilson is definitely a genius.
