Best cat grooming/bathing video I’ve ever seen, even compared to any videos done by professional grooming and bathing. The bucket and cup is the best part. Great idea! The loud scary running water is what makes bathing a cat impossible! Amazing video! Thank you! ..Adorable kitties as well! I have a ragdoll cat that is the same flamepoint coloring! Only mine looks twice as large.. he is an 18 pound big boy! All muscle. Not overweight, just huge frame!

I wish it was that easy for me. My kitten is like an American Ninja Warrior, Bruce Lee and a piranha with fur! 😩🤕😭

I'm getting a new cat soon and I'm learning these now, trying to be a good cat servant 😂

I'm seeing a lot of comments about how this didn't work with their cat. This is normal. If you have to bathe an adult cat for the first time they are going to freak out. If you want to be able to bathe your cat regularly you have to start when they're little, otherwise getting them used to it is going to be a challenge even doing things right.

dude you litteraly saved my life, i wanted to start washing my cat because i read somewhere that its good for him, but i always thought my cat would kill me if it touched a drop of water. so i put him in my bathtub, preparing for the worst but for my surprise when i started to gently pour water on him, he just went with it and didnt even hiss or try to get out. i was extremely shocked because it was the first time i bathed him.

Thanks for sharing. I just gave my cat a bath and it was a traumatic experience for both of us, so I looked for better ways to do it and found this video. I'm looking forward to trying this next time.

Super misleading, lol 😅 how is your cat so chill?? My cat wouldnt shut up the whole time, his meows were bellowing, and he started to fight me after I rubbed the shampoo in... so rinsing thoroughly was HARD. 😫😭

Followed this guide every step of the way like 5 minutes ago and that was hands-down the best shower routine we've had...thank you!

just bathed her using this video! we started out in a deep sink with enough room for her to stand she HATED it and she escaped like 3 or 4 times by climbing up my shoulder and jumping off 😂 we then moved to the shower where i brought my cup and she was much more well behaved! and i only escaped with 1 scratch, great video!

I just tried this with my cat. She hasn't taken a bath her whole life cause she's too scared even if it's just one drop of water 😭😭 but didn't expect she was actually calm, didn't even mutter a single meow or try to scratch me. She just kept WALKING away from the water but i still managed to bath her, i'm not sure if she's clean enough tho cause i tried being gentle as much as possible cause she don't like being massaged for a long time. It's still her first time, i hope she'll become more comfortable the next time. Thanks for this!

This is very well done. You clearly explained important points in detail. Like, cut claws before bathing, do it correctly & avoid the quick. Use shampoo for cats, pay attention to under parts & be sure to rinse thoroughly. I'll share a few more tips. I use a shower wand with 2 hoses to extend reach & manipulate where I need it. I reduce water pressure to keep cat calm & the continuous water flow speeds the process of proper rinsing. I like Adams Plus Flea & Tick Foaming Shampoo & Conditioner for Cats & Kittens. It easily works into a light lather, cleans well, leaves skin moisturized, coat shinny & smells nice. Hold head up & start at neck, work up chin but avoid eyes & ears. Direct water away from face. I have a small plastic ladder cat can stand up on to feel safe. I also give them a calming CBD treat before starting. I towel dry next to a small heater that quietly blows warm air. It keeps cat warm while I use a small slicker brush to gently brush hair in alternating directions. This efficiently drys their coat.

You make it look so easy! My cats won’t even let me cut their nails, much less let me wet them and bathe them. I even have a mesh net thing to tie them up but they manage to get out of it too! You have such a sweet cat

"How To Bathe A Cat" joke
I. Know that although the cat has the advantage of quickness and lack of concern for human life, you have the advantage of strength. Capitalize on that advantage by selecting the battlefield. Don't try to bathe him in an open area where he can force you to chase him. Pick a very small bathroom. If your bathroom is more than four feet square, I recommend that you get in the tub with the cat and close the sliding -glass doors as if you were about to take a shower. (A simple shower curtain will not do. A berserk cat can shred a three-ply rubber shower curtain quicker than a politician can shift positions.)
II. Know that a cat has claws and will not hesitate to remove all the skin from your body. Your advantage here is that you are smart and know how to dress to protect yourself. I recommend canvas overalls tucked into high-top construction boots, a pair of steel-mesh gloves, an army helmet, a hockey face-mask, and a long-sleeved flak jacket.
III. Use the element of surprise. Pick up your cat nonchalantly, as if to simply carry him to his supper dish. (Cats will not usually notice your strange attire. They have little or no interest in fashion as a rule.)
IV. Once you are inside the bathroom, speed is essential to survival. In a single liquid motion, shut the bathroom door, step into the tub enclosure, slide the glass door shut, dip the cat in the water and squirt him with shampoo. You have begun one of the wildest 45 seconds of your life.
V. Cats have no handles. Add the fact that he now has soapy fur, and the problem is radically compounded. Do not expect to hold on to him for more than two or three seconds at a time. When you have him, however, you must remember to give him another squirt of shampoo and rub like crazy. He'll then spring free and fall back into the water, thereby rinsing himself off. (The national record for cats is three latherings, so don't expect too much.)
IV. Next, the cat must be dried. Novice cat bathers always assume this part will be the most difficult, for humans generally are worn out at this point and the cat is just getting really determined. In fact, the drying is simple compared with what you have just been through. That's because by now the cat is semi-permanently affixed to your right leg. You simply pop the drain plug with your foot, reach for your towel and wait. (Occasionally, however, the cat will end up clinging to the top of your army helmet. If this happens, the best thing you can do is to shake him loose and to encourage him toward your leg.) After all the water is drained from the tub, it is a simple matter to just reach down and dry the cat. In a few days the cat will relax enough to be removed from your leg. He will usually have nothing to say for about three weeks and will spend a lot of time sitting with his back to you. He might even become psychoceramic and develop the fixed stare of a plaster figurine. You will be tempted to assume he is angry. This isn't usually the case. As a rule he is simply plotting ways to get through your defenses and injure you for life the next time you decide to give him a bath.
But at least now he smells a lot better.

Awesome video! My cat is 6 years old and has never had a bath before, and also DESPISES water. This gave me so me some good tips to keep somewhat calm, and if I die in the process thank you forthe enjoyable video. 😁😂
