asking a liar if they are a liar, what do you expect?

This is the problem. With the fact that you can do bad things in office and fail upwards because journalists give them the oxygen of publicity

It wasn't an interview, it was a freebie book promotion. Johnson knows how to charm and discombobulate his interviewer and the interviewer falls into this trap every time, especially if he or she is unprepared and does not have the facts on hand.

A great public speaker? He can barely finish a sentence.

If only you'd pressed Johnson during Brexit and covid, then his destruction wouldn't have dragged on so long

The truth is that his 'truth' substantiated the accusation of lying

The narcissistic fragility to criticism came through clearly when confronted with public tweets about him being a liar; his chances of election are slim if he`s seen as a sneering rules breaker & lie maker.

You see this is where it all goes wrong Matt didn’t ask if Boris was a liar, he stated that Boris was a liar, then was asked to evidence it, pulled out the bus and then was proved wrong at which point he mis quoted the book and when it was proved he had just lied himself he wanted to not deal with the details and move rapidly on.
If he was a half decent journalist he would have apologised and said he had got it wrong. A bit like the channel 4 journalist did with Jordan P.

Why not ask Starmer and Reeves that question?
Is it not stock in trade of all politicians to "lie" is POLITICS😱

Hmm, I don't think that was the most honest answer. Would Matt Chorley interview Liz Truss? Has he? Why not?
Is it because in the end its about the fact that Johnson is big box office and "entertaining" and Truss is a nobody and characterless.
I think its worth exploring these facts and being honest about them.

If you are going to interview anyone at least let them answer rather than shout at him every time he tries to answer - utterly appalling interview!

Which prime minister has ever put their hands up to the mistake they made?!

Hindsight hasn't taught Bojo a thing, not that hes prepared to admit to anyway.

Johnson will never show any humility. That is why he shouldn’t be interviewed.

I think Chorley does a good interview. Johnson is such a turd.

Boris Johnson was 100% better than Keir Starmer- they all have their Faulrpts, Boris had a lot to contend with-I would get his Book!
