Docker Vs Kubernetes Vs Containers:
You have a Microservice, and you want to create a package that you want to be able to use it and deploy it on your local machine or a data center or in the cloud. E.g. you want the package to contain the underlying OS (Linux), the runtime (Python) and the application as well.
We use Docker to create such a package. We create a Docker Image. Once we have the docker image, we can use the docker runtime to “run” this specific image wherever you want to run it.
Once you have a docker image in a running state, that’s when we call it a Container. So, container is nothing but a terminology which refers to a running docker image.
And when we talk about MS architecture, we need to run a no. of MS which need a no. of non-functional features such as Load Balancing, Service Registry, Config Management, Automatic Release. And all these features are provided by a software called ‘ontainer Orchestration’ and Kubernetes is very popular in that space.
