Finding the perfect HoYD is probably the hardest thing in FM. There are only very few people, who have good attributes AND play a similar tactic/pressing/etc that I prefer. Also, I am never really sure, whether the "working with youth" and "judging ability/potential" attributes are more important than the coaching attributes. After all, the HoYD also acts as a coach.

This is hands down the best method if you have a team that can allow for a healthy scouting budget and good scouts!!! Finding wonderkids and top youth constantly!!!

If you are managing in a country with poor nation youth rating, like I am in Wales, get a bunch of affiliate clubs from nations with better ratings, like a Spanish second tier club for example

I don't know how much better assessment is at higher levels, but in my lower league saves I give players a lot of time, because my staff keeps changing their mind all the time. One season they're 3 stars, not even half a season later they're 5. Next season they're surplus to requirement, the player plays a few matches and is again the team's star player.

Scouting in this game is in general quite a mess. I set up a scouting focus, just to test things with: look for any positions/roles, in the bundesliga (playing in germany), current ability 2 stars (im managing augsburg so 2 stars is really low), potential ability 2, 5 stars, ongoing search with a scout that is german and absolute familiar with germany.

And i got 2-3 results. So i really dont know what these guys are doing all day. A lot of times when i look at my fokusses i see 0 recomendations, 0 (the other one^^), 0 work in progress. So what am i paying u for if u dont even work u damn scout :D

I don't know if this only happens to me, but I have a feeling that changing the HoYD to a better one (attributes, personality, tactics, etc.) brings worse results than the previous one. I thought that perhaps I'll start to reap its awards later on, so I waited for a few more years, but it seems like it also doesn't produce any good players in the long term. Is HoYD really important to youth production?

hi great video i play on console, i usually play 2 setups one from vanarema south where dont worry development, and as i have supported liverpool since i was 5 now 58 we can only load max 10 leagues with 50, 000 players what 10 leagueswould you recommend obv portugal is always a definite for me playing as liverpool alo console starts at 1 gold star for searching

This. This is the bilbao way. Strong as fuck youth academy and recruit from it.
The benefit of this playstyle is that you can actually build the international team off your academy prospects. You can pick up for example fenerbaçe, focus on youth like there is no tomorrow. Comanage the turkish national team and actually challenge for cups.
