Sram XX1 Eagle vs. Shimano XTR 12 Speed Drivetrain. Shifting In Slow motion.

Highly requested, after my last episode!
Let's see in slow motion the difference between Sram and Shimano cassette, rear derailleur and chain in action. The most obvious thing you can see is that the Shimano derailleur shifts much better without the clutch on... Enjoy!

That 'jamming' with the shimano + clutch looks like an incorrectly adjusted B-screw. The chain isn't being allowed enough space between the jockey and cassette to climb the cogs

I can hear the Sram sponsorship money truck in the background backing up to your doors, 😂

your XTR "issue" looks more like a bent mech hanger issue and a lack of care. Ever wondered if ur just a bad mechanic? Been working on sram and shimano high end 12 speeds daily and been never let down on the quality on both of them. Just different strokes for different folks as they say. Dont be so butthurt all the time. Enjoy riding bikes/building/fixing them and have fun!

Why is the derailleur cable frayed (1:03)? Something is not right with the setup.

Unsub, this is bias. Shimano not adjusted properly....

Damn you are sponsored by sram bro the xtr is sooo way out of adjust, i have one and it shifts 10000 times smoother

Shimano said that it performs best under load. The higher the load the smoother it shifts. You turning the crank using your hands does not really count as heavy load. Try spinning the crank with more force. Sram might have faster shifting but Shimano is smooth as hell especially when it is under load.

Im a SRAM guy. But this video makes me wonder why you did such an excellent job getting the XX1 in frame for a perfect view of everything. But the XTR footage is absolute crap.

I think, something is wrong with adjustment of your XTR drivetrain. Why does it stucks while shifting?!
I have SLX 12sp cassette, XT derailleur and XT shifter - and it works pretty good.

I think you adjusted clutch tension way too stiff
My XT 12speed derailleur is smooth enough for enduro riding even if i switched on the clutch

Horseshit review! He made one of the best ever groupset shift worse than the suntour I ran in 1989! I run slx and xt in the Scottish mud and it runs cleaner than what he showed on the clean workshop. Shame on you!!

That Shimano doesn't seem right... My 10 speed Deore m6000 derallieur shifts better than that and isn't far off the sram so I think something isn't quite right...

Shimano has been perfection for decades. I cant think of a better engineered product. Nothing against SRAM which I use, but Shimano is the Gold Standard.

Pls tell me its not troll! Shimano is soooo bad in this video like its not set up correctly.

This video shows how well that clutch works on the Shimano so much quiter and less chain slap than Sram. And when you get in the rough stuff the sram derailleur will jump teeth on the narrow wide idler pulley you'll have to stop and realign the chain. I'm always jealous of people who can get sram to work including the brakes. It looks good though.

Uhm, I think the tuning is quite off with Shimano, I have low end shimano but does perform better than on this video. ✌

can replicate this exactly simply by tuning my XTR with the clutch off, then switching the clutch on. If you tune with the clutch on in the first place it shifts like butter no matter if the clutch is on or off. I like you dude but this is embarrassing, nobody who looks at that XTR setup and thinks "thats just how Shimano shifts" should be uploading bike maintenance tutorials there is obviously something wrong there. I have full XTR on my XC and it shifts like butter on and off the stand and, I have an XTR rear mech on my gravel bike being controlled by a Microshift bar end shifter (full length outers, routed fully under the bar tape) running a (possibly fake) KMC chain up and down a Sunrace cassette from an FSA crank with an off brand 42T chainring and it still shifts like butter.
