Menendez brothers to seek clemency from California governor

Erik and Lyle Menendez’s attorney, Mark Geragos, will seek clemency from Gov. Gavin Newsom in the hopes of getting the brothers’ release by Thanksgiving.

They have another half of their life they deserve to live. None of us can imagine the nightmare their upbringing was.

If this shooting had happened now, with the history of abuse, these boys probably would not have spent a day in prison.

Paul Pelosi's attacker got life without the possibility of parole with the assault charges while these brothers did horrible murders get less sentences.

well i always wonder why not alert and show some signs, revelations to others, this story of abuse strangely only came up when they had no more solution, why spend money live the grand life they were dreaming of without their parents on their back after their crime and behave not as traumatized kids but as free of their overpowering father and control doing what they really wanted to do and experience with his money, why never a single real confession to their therapist, if you are so trouble and bad that you go and kill both parents, you end up confessing your crime you will also give the real reason why immediately, anyway despite all that, i believe a human deserve a second shot and chance and redemption, i dont believe in life in prison for someone who is not a psychotic killer and had a trauma leading to his actions, i also believe every single person who does such a act should have a long lasting regular mental help and work on his issues which is rarely the case

It is TIME to let them go, I believe they served so much of their life already and they”ll still serve mentally for the rest of their lives. Free them from lack of freedom they never really had in the first place. Since childhood/ teens, they never really had a choice living in their own home a place where you’re suppose to feel safe. Yeah, to try and claim that it was self-defense that’s what they’ve been cleaned for the last like 30 years that it was self-defense. It’s kind of hard to prove self-defense back in the late 80s. That’s if the release.

I watched the first trial in court tv. I truly believe it was a case of imperfect self-defense. They honestly believe there was imminent threat on their lives at that moment in time. The severe abuse they suffered contributed to their mindset.
