The scores are not just for hygiene/dirty. You could have a place spotless and clean and still only get a 2 or 3 because they haven't kept paperwork up to date like recording temperatures or not including proper use by dates or allergens.

the burger place at 3:16 looked actually pretty good, and the reason it "looked stepped on" was because its a smash burger, a type of burger that is flattened on the grill to crisp up the edges.

i work in an indian takeaway and yeah sometimes its not always the cleanliness of the business if could be things like cracked floor tiles in the kitchen and door hinges falling off, exposed electrical cables also in the kitchen. yes alot of them are about cleanliness as they should be! the place i work at got scored a 1 only for a few weeks but it really affected their business since then, and this was 5 years ago.

I actually ate at an Indian restaurant apparently given a 0 or a 1, as I found out googling them while reading the menu as the place looked okay from the outside. They must've turned the place around a bit since this happening four months ago but was very risky for the first night's meal on a weekend far from home with an event the next day lol

Worth noting too that the rating isn't just hygiene, it's also confidence in the management. I learnt that if the manager argues about something with the inspector, it's an automatic 1.
My local Chinese which I worked as a driver for was immaculately clean, but had a rating of 1. They had to compete against it and then got a 5...the place received a 1 literally because the owner argued with the inspector about using lemon scented anti-bacterial spray to clean the wall and fridge surfaces.

I got food poisoning from a Chinese once from the BBQ ribs. 11 days of being on the toilet led me to A&E and telling the doctor I had explosive 💩 and when he inserted his finger into my 🍩 I had no idea what was gunna happen he didn’t look too impressed 😂😂 luckily nothing happened but he did say I had a irritated 💩 pipe from sh*tting too much 🤣 great vid by the way…braver man than me

The low ratings can usually just come from the resturants paperwork not being up to date. I knew a guy who owned a takeaway and they got a rating of 1, I asked him what happened cause the food was always spot on and he said that if they haven't got a license record upto date then they instantly get knocked down to a 1 rating. Don't know how each council does it but thats how they do it from where I am from! :)

You're brave to be eating at these places. I once ordered fried chicken wings with a burger, and the next day I had really bad food poisoning. It put me off ordering fast food or eating out at those places
