Vintage FireX Smoke Alarm Test (Loud) | FX1014

I came across this vintage FireX FX1014 smoke alarm while staying in an apartment as a part of my travels. Knowing these alarms have a buzzer that is completely different from modern-day alarms I just had to make this little video of it for this channel! Thank you for viewing!

Small children would be able to wake up to the sound of 60 Hz Basketball Scoreboard Buzzer sound from a smoke alarm due to the very low frequency that can penetrate through walls easily and they can respond better to low frequency smoke alarms than high frequency smoke alarms or they can respond to the ones that have a "FIRE! FIRE!" voice smoke alarm.

This is also true for the addition of 520 Hz low frequency sounders because they can also wake up small children than the sound of a normal high pitched fire alarm

I’ve been wanting one of these for a quite a few months. Although I know two people who used to have one of these in their houses. One of the people already had it replaced and then the other person had two of these but one of them got removed and thrown away but the other one is still there. I’m hoping she will let me install two new smoke alarms and replace the old FireX.

That's a rare third generation because it has a Quick Connect harness. Older ones have direct pigtail wires.

My friends went out of country for vacation and hirwd me to take care of their cats, well the first night we got there there smoke detector was going off and theres was no smoke, air was clean but it was the original from the late 90s so we think the cause was it was spazing out, we unplugged it from the ceiling and threw it in the bathroom incase it went off again bc the cats were just spooked
