Those bikes sound the best with open Kerker. No doubt.

In 1978, went to Fremont dragstrip in Calif. Went up against a GS1000 on my '77 diamond sky blue KZ1000 with Kerker 4-1. He got me the 1st pass. I got him the 2nd. Went up against Kawi 750 triples, XS 11's, but not a CBX. I ran a 11.90 at 114. That was fast for almost 50 years ago. All in all, miss the freedom of those days. Ride a '22 Z900 among others now, but I'd still be happy with the big KZ for sure.

What a beauty!!! When Kawasaki came out with the KZ1000 LTD Kawasaki went with looks over function. The LTD with the fat rear tire and the raked front end with the skinny tire handled horribly in the twisties. It still had that Kawasaki incredible power but the, ”chopped” look that so many manufacturers went with back then did a disservice to the bikes. It’s nice to see one of the good handling ones.

Bringing back memories. Loved that KZ 1000. I rode my buddies 750 triple 2 stroke back in the day. Pretty crazy bike.

Turned 16 riding a 77 model of that. But had the green and gold paint. Kerker 4 into two, black pipes and cylinders. Miracle I'm alive 😂 oh and a king and queen seat!

when i was about 9-10 years old my mom met her 2nd husband . so from 10 to 15 years old . he had a KZ 900. it had a sissy bar back rest for the passenger . i was too small to see over his shoulder but the amount of force that was pushing me into that backrest was intense when he hit her hard in any gear . ive experienced some very built cars and ridden many bikes. but not very many reminded me of the power of that bike he had.

Now that brings back memories of my 76 KZ900, they just looked fast standing still and sure did boogie !, "dump_gas_go_fast" .

I had a 78 and it had a Kerker. Sounded exactly like that. It was fast in a straight line but it felt weird in the curvey stuff
