It's my favorite literary work of all time the entire series! I remember reading the first book back in '88 I was 13 or 14 and I had to follow the whole journey and it finally ended when I turned 31! I love it so much!

I only had a few 80s Stephen King books left until I had completed all of his 80s books so I was planning on doing that this month.

Then I made the mistake of starting 'The Gunslinger' on May I am starting the final book in the series LOL.

This is one of my favorite series. I read it a long time ago. I didn't know King rewrote The Gunslinger. I would be interested in comparing the two books. I still have my original. Thanks for the info. I guess I'm overdue for a reread.

I read the original version and didn’t feel compelled to move on to the next book. Maybe I’ll give the revised version a try and see if it grabs me more.
