Not sure what the difference between an Attack vs Fighter Aircraft is? A fighter jet has a larger engine and smaller wings making them fast and maneuverable, while they take down their targets. Attack aircrafts target ground threats, and are larger in size. This helps them to stand up against any damage they receive in battle. Since these aircrafts have different strengths and roles, the United States Air Force has become the most powerful fighting force in the sky.

F-117 is confusing. It's not a fighter by any definition. It's a special category of ground attack aircraft called a strike aircraft. That means it should have been labeled as an A-117. I call it a strike aircraft because it is never to loiter in a dangerous area. Fly in to known target, strike and get out of Dodge.
