The Secret Ingredient to SANJI | The Anatomy of One Piece

One Piece is a legendary story filled with a cast of seemingly simple characters. However like anything Eiichiro Oda writes, there's always a lot of careful and clever design behind the characters that colour the pages of this tale. Sanji is no different and much like Zoro, he's another character I feel folks don't fully understand. Today I'm going to dive into his character and see if I can help shed some light!

the zoro takes the hit because he feels responsible vs sanji takes the hit because he feel less valuable was such a good observation

I remember melon tree's line on how when Sanji called for Robin... It also shows how Robin who was always protected by the crew... finally feels like she's needed by the crew...

You missed the chance to mention when Luffy and Ussop arguing about Merry, when Luffy is going to say something that he will regret it forever, Sanji stop him by kicking him. Prevented Luffy would be greatest mistake.

As a Sanji stan, him asking Robin for help has been one of my favorite moments in the entire series. It felt so right and like such a huge step. It’s crazy to me how so deep into the story, characters still develop and grow.

Sanji has always been my favourite character and strawhat and don't see that ever changing from his truly kind heart, amazing fight moves and choreography, doing stuff for the crew/others besides making bomb ass food and always dripped out with style among other things

I love Sanji’s backstory. He grew up being treated like trash because he wasn’t as strong as his genetically modified siblings back on Germa 66. But even after all the abuse he faced he got back and followed his passion for cooking while one day becoming super strong in his own right. That right there is strength, to get back up after being beaten down and staying true to yourself and your calling

A video essay has never made me cry, this one did. How you talk about Sanji makes me think of myself, how he conquerors his thoughts of being less makes me think about how I did the same too. Little Garden, Water Seven, Wano act 3. There's been many arcs where Sanji has been absent for multiple chapters and when he shows up he was taking the steps to save the day, or ensuring their safety. In short, if he's not around, he's probably cooking something awesome, and we should let him do that.

I love, love, LOVE it when people see Sanji for who he really is instead of focusing on pitting his physical ability against Zoro. Sanji's HEART is what makes him my favorite character in all of One Piece ❤

Sanji has been taking Ws in egghead all day. Getting work done and like many arcs he usually plays the secret agent which funny enough worked great for his backstory
