The one that got me was how his dad didn't like him much and he had to keep swimming back to shore like his dad was constantly trying to drown him 😂

He is good and his jokes were understandable by non British people as well. This is not always the case with some other comedians you have shown. The swimming back to shore jokes were funny and reminded me of a joke we used to say ages ago when I was still a high school student: "In the middle of the Atlantic: Dad how far is it to shore? Shut up and swim".

The Richard and Judy one is related to the fact his wife looks really old. And the ‘’oh yes” thing was a reference to the Churchill insurance advert with the British bulldog that says “oh yes”.

For information, Richard and Judy were a husband and wife combo on ITV. She's 8 years older than him, hence the joke.
