Hi Jay,
I saw that you're really interested in Islam, so I thought about sharing these advices with you from the bottom of my heart.

1. Embrace Islam in a Muslim community that will never hate you even if you decide to leave Islam later, not in a community where you will be hated once you change your faith. God said in the holy Quran "لا إكراه في الدين" "There is no compulsion in religion". Yet many muslims don't really understand the meaning of this Aya. And they follow what politicians say, instead of following Allah and the merciful prophet.


2. Embrace Islam in a muslim community that knows very well that God rewards are only rewards, not goals. The goal is to obey God whether rewards or punishments exist or not. Being greedy for rewards is allowed in Islam, but surely, Allah is way greater than just a reward giver or a punisher.


3. Compare Quran translations before believing any translation. and avoid translations that were made in dictatorship countries, since Quran harshly criticizes dictatorship mentality, and such governments will never allow a non-biased translator to do his job freely without putting pressure on him.
