CORRECTION: Incorrect date at 19:23 - Skarloey arrived in the 1860s. 1806 was when "The Railroad" was laid from the mines to Balladwail. Thanks to Husky Crusader for pointing that out.

Here’s an extra fact: in an interview with Ringo Starr in the late 80’s, he stated his favorite character was diesel.

To add on to the theories regarding how engines can be ‘related’ to each other, I like to believe that being built by the same company, being the same class, and being built in the same factory results in engines being twins like Donald and Douglas.

It’s crazy to think that Thomas wouldn’t exist if Christopher Awdry never got the measles…

My favourite piece of information is that Henry is always ill, because he's based off stolen blueprints from Sir Nigel Gresley's workshop, Henry's a one off hybrid between two classes and his firebox is too small.

Small correction on number 88: Diesel 10 initially had a British Accent (as heard on early trailers), voiced by Keith Scott. This voice was apparently too scary for kids, so Neil Crone took over giving him a Russian accent, but this was considered too offensive, so the voice used in the final film was then used

My favourite fact not mentioned is that Audrey actually intended to write Henry out and replace him, however had a change of mind.
Couldn’t pick a favourite fact from this list. A lot of it is impressive and well researched.

Thomas had an impact on Tom Hank's life? Makes you wonder why he didn't become a narrator at one point.

I remember the lead paint crisis! Had to give up my toys to be replaced. Got a free SC Ruffey model as an apology!

The fact that the writers didn't try to clarify what Miller meant by Paxman instead of assuming she meant Paxton amazes me

5:23 This is because originally, this was going to be the only book, and would end with Henry being bricked up forever in the tunnel. The publishers asked him to write a fourth story to give Henry a happy ending, presumably so that they didn't scare children with such a gruesome ending. Awdry also intended to kill Henry in The Flying Kipper due to issues with how he was drawn, though eventually decided to have him rebuilt.

26:35 I've asked that same question myself.
Anyways, here's another fact. The Island of Sodor is real. Kinda. Let me explain. Sodor is separated from mainland England by the Walney Channel. The Walney Channel actually exists in real life, separating the real-life Walney Island from England. In the universe of the RWS and Thomas, Walney Island doesn't exist, as it is essentially absorbed into Sodor. And on Walney Island is the city of Vickerstown, which has both a similar name and layout to the fictional Sudrian city of Vicarstown. So you could technically say that Sodor exists in real life, albeit much smaller than in fiction.

The TUGS theme intro made me wish there was a crossover. I'm not getting emotional, you are.

Edit: also, the crane that hit Edward was Big Mickey. I guess his death by drowning made him a little... cranky

I have never seen that video of Stanley in space, and now I’m just in pure belief! And about the repeated episode titles, “Thomas in Trouble” could honestly describe 50% of all T&F episodes

Mr. Conductor and the Magic Railroad should have been the title of TATMR because it wasn't focused majorly on the trains.

To be honest George carlin is a lot more famous here in America than you said, he was extremely popular and considered one of the best of this time and even to this day many credit him for their careers and wanting to be a comedian he also starred in many TV shows and movies

Also the fact of the colors for the Northwestern goes as follows up until ducks arrival because sir Topham hat wanted to preserve railway history so most engines kept the original liveries after that.
Northwestern blue predominantly passenger work
Northwestern green predominantly freight work
Northwestern red mixed traffic
In the railway series specifically where they stock far more to railway norms and less so in the TV series you can see the engines of specific colors almost exclusively pull that type of train.
Also many people say that Donald and Douglas are painted northwestern blue but Audrey claimed that they were painted in Caledonian blue which is what they would’ve been in before British railways painted them black.

Fun fact: In the Journey Beyond Sodor's "I Want To Go Home" song, you can clearly see that Duck is not being shown and you notice that all of the tracks were standard gauge ones, if look at the top right...
YOU NOTICE THAT RUSTY IS RIDING ON IT EVEN THOUGH HE WAS A NARROW GAUGE!!!!
