Join me in the video as I take you along the journey to finally add full auto focus to the Canon R5C with the dual fisheye VR lens for the first time ever.

I'll add a timestamp to the full reveal below.

This project was put together using a canon R5C, a smallrig cage, the PDMovie Air 3 Smart. Bonus items at the end include the NReal AR glasses, their HDMI to USB C adapter and a micro-HDMI to HDMI adapter.

Your video was so helpful, I wasn't sure whether the PDMovie Air 3 Smart would attach to my SmallRig cage and work with my Canon R5 having the Dual Fisheye lenses but you showed exactly how it all works in this video. No one to my knowledge has done this with the VR Canon fisheye lenses and I didn't want to be the trailblazer who orders the device only to find out that it doesn't integrate properly with the camera, lenses and cage. But now thanks to you I have full confidence that it will work. Thank you so much for posting this highly specialized and extremely relevant video.

Interesting - using a LIDAR to auto-focus of the Canon VR180 - glad I found this - give me good ideas. Appreciate it!

Pulled the trigger for the PDMovie Air 3 Smart. In the queue, listening to the video again, I appreciated the history lesson from Insta360 EVO, gopro and finally the Canon r5c. Good run down of where we are today. I do have the EVO and the QooCAM EGO. I have the Canon r5 - so stuck with 8K and 30fps. It a great camera for photography. Anyway - waiting for the package to arrive to be able to focus the Canon r5 with 180lens. Thank you again for posting this!

Thanks for your video. Thanks to him, I bought real ultra glasses, but here's the question, you mentioned that the glasses support a stereoscopic image, but how do I activate it to immediately see the picture stitched? Or maybe some applications do it?

Thanks so much for this video. Quick question. I know you mentioned that you have the PDL-AFX-S model, but do you think it makes sense to order the PDL-AFX-RA-SP model with the more powerful Motor Smart? I'm not really interested in the Remote Air thing so I wish they offered a version with the Motor Smart with just the smaller focus knob. Just wondering if the focus has been fine with the Motor Smart Mini with the dual fisheye lens. Thanks, again.

Amazingly helpful video. Might have convinced me to purchase (though those rumors of a new VR Canon camera are slowing me down a bit). Still no regrets?

Hi
I am planning to buy the Canon 3D camera to do 3D products adverts to play on 3D Naked-Eye billboard.

Can you please tell me if the videos captured on this Canon camera can be played and viewed on 3D Naked-Eye Monitor?

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! Any tips on using on the gimbal and setup for manual override? How long does the battery last? Thanks again

you use VR glasses as an external monitor, then the question is, is it possible to connect VR glasses to display not a 3D image, but a regular two-dimensional image on the VR glasses?

Just so everyone knows, the PDBTMPSP version has a different mount, the unit with three batteries is too thick. I did manage to mount it, but just could not get the lidar focus to work correctly, even though I calibrated it to instructions multiple time. How did you get it to work. Did you use .4 / .6 /. and .6+1.5m calibration. Even at 2.8 there is no difference or any real focusing needed due to infinity after a few feet? How did you do the calibration? Can you please let us know. Thanks.

Wow! Does this work with the R5 instead of R5C?
