There are multiple kinds of warfare that China uses to subvert its target countries, but there's one in particular that it considers the most essential. In this episode of China Unscripted, we discuss China's essential warfare tactic that allows it to control the Philippines and influence the US, why it's important for the US to be a good ally, and the role of business deals in addition to trade deals in subverting China's influence. Joining us in this episode is David Day, the chairman of the Global Risk Mitigation Foundation, and one of the leading international legal practitioners on the Indo-Pacific region, including the Philippines.

This is easier to say, move out all those manufacturing corporations from the enemy and move them to ally countries, this will strengthen them economically and militarily as well. It will also cement the relationship with ally nations, which will benefit both parties.

One of the ASEAN countries that CCP has been trying to subvert for a long time is Myanmar. And while we are not at war with China, we have a civil war which CCP has supplied arms and ammo to both sides. We know what the pointy end of CCP subversion feels like in Myanmar.

No excuses. The Chinese already said since Mao and Deng that they are going to bide their time. Pretend to be friends just to develop their economy, then strike back when the time is right. Why didn't the Americans listen?

We here in the Philippines have more job ahead of us. With the current conflict between the Marcos and Duterte, we need to plan who's next after Marcos's 6 years. I'm seriously pinning for Gibo Teodoro. We're screwed if another Duterte or any one of their allies comes into power again.

Heck, as much as I hate the Marcoses (history and all) the same way all pro-Marcos hates the Aquinos, I think we can all agree that the two families at least knew how to handle geopolitics and security better. In that regard, the Militaristically inclined Marcoses might be a better choice in terms of strengthening our defense capabilities.

We have a crisis of competence. The bureaucrats who have taken over the control of the US are incompetent. Moreover, they've been unconstitutionally allowed to make determinations on how the laws will be defined and enforced. Accordingly, they've deliberately set out to remove any accountability through unionization and interpretations of the civil service act.
As the residents of Hawaii have learned, this government is dangerous to our lives. The people living near the train wreck in Ohio are still hoping for help. Anyone tried to fly anywhere recently? Just wait til they close all the gas stations and tell you to take an EV, but the power grid is completely incapable of powering our cars. The bureaucrats make rules, which don't apply to themselves, and demand we bend our knee to their purported "expertise."

This is not freedom and this is not democracy. We are slowly being strangled, as if a giant communist boa constrictor, were squeezing the air from our lungs and the freedom from our souls.

Yeah, it would be a good thing to allow licencing of some US weapons technologies to countries like Finland, Chech Republic and Germany. We know how to produce weapons, and we to it well. And licencing would be an additional source of income to the US companies, without the cost of building new factories and such.

I recall comments in the past that the US has a tendency to show interest in helping a country...and then deserts it shortly afterward, so these countries aren't really sure whether to count on the US or not. We had Blinken say that the US would not get involved in defending Taiwan in a war with China, after Biden had said we WOULD defend Taiwan. (Of course I realize the US is training soldiers in Taiwan and selling them weapons.

We here in the United Kingdom have been waiting since the end of World War 2, to continue our close relationship with our American brothers & sisters, we're still waiting. By the way, we're currently living in uncertain times. Please don't hesitate to move forward & join us, because if you do wait it may be too late ! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇸

Good interview and thanks for posting and you all made some very interesting comments regarding non continuity in the US approach to the Philippines. In my opinion it is going to be very difficult (but not impossible) for the US to show continuity and in depth understanding when we are flipping our leadership every 4 years and hiring our state department officials based on who they know. The only truly bright spot that I can see is that the US is placing its emphasis on China, which is now, truly, our biggest threat. Thanks again for posting and best wishes.

During Duterte Administration US lost Philippines as an ally. US warships awkwardly zigzag through Philippine waters with China watching them amused.

Short-attention span is the US main problem.
Physical warfare takes a few years at most; economic warfare takes decades.

USA need to build Philippines a nuclear reactor. They need their own utility grid that’s pretty bad knowing China can throw the switch and turn everything off.😅
