standardized, pre-manufactured micro- nuke salt- breeder reactors that use spent fuel will be the future of nuke reactors. they'd be safe. sine they're made in a factory & deployed on trucks, government approval expense gets much cheaper & much easier- one size fits all & you just make as many units as it takes to meet your needs.

Nuclear is more cost efficient as well as being relatively carbon free. Does this mean that other power consumers will be forced to pay more for less efficient power solutions?

MS isn't buying the power to use for homes. It's for data centres and AI

in the southwest- a combination of wind & solar with megapack battery storage over the area of a 50 mile x 50 mile track of land would output roughly the same power output as this plant- but- would deploy in half the time and half the cost to get to startup- and once operational? would cost 1/10th the cost. also, if you count the exlusion zone of the nuclear plant (no one wants to live within 20 miles of one) there's really not that big of a difference in space needed. however, I still like nuclear- it's a great option and you can deploy it in areas where it's freezing cold, barely any wind & almost no sun.

Didn't 3 Mile Island have issues.... Microsoft could definitely fix that. Could even figure a way of using spent fuel and draw more energy from it.
