Almost forgot but be sure to to disable hardware acceleration in programs besides discord as well because it may cause issues in the long run.

I hope this helps yall cause these past few months have been nuts trying to figure this out :P

Drivers: 20.4.2 (05/21/20 at the time of recording)

- ALWAYS go in and find your GPU's latest Firmware, what! you think only your mother board have BIOS? Upgrade your 5700's BIOS so it wont crash or black screen.(Dunno why people always forget to do this)
- ALWAYS Daisychain your GPU's power cables, do not use one cable to connect all PCI-E entrys, and make sure your PSU is at least 650w for this card.
- Dont use Adrenaline driver apps, setup your driver without them and find your GPU's manifactorer's own program to use, example; Asus - GPU Tweak
- Use HDMI 1.4, yes especially 1.4, its a magnificent solution.
- Set your monitor refreshment more than 45hz and make sure it stays that way.
- Power is the name of the game, set window's power settings to maximum
- Make sure your windows is always up to date.
- Make sure your motherboard's BIOS up to date
- Disable hardware acceleration in programs like Google and Discord

When you do all of this (it will take probably 45 mins) you will realize your card is actually not that bad and can actually play games in Ultra Settings, hope this will help.

Be sure to set a custom fan curve with 100% fan speed at 50-55 degrees C and use a baseline fan speed of 50%

Try undervolting to reduce temps. I play on a 144hz monitor with high/ultra settings in almost all my games and I keep between 60-70 degrees junction with only 50% fan speed (with two 140mm intake case fans).

I'd recommend leaving your vram tuning at 1750 (am I right in guessing you're motherboard is using PCIE 3.0?), then with your GPU Tuning, lower the frequency to 2000mhz (it will probably correct itself to 1999, that's fine) then lower your voltage from 1200 to 1100 or 1110 (again, the 2020 software will correct the setting a bit so if it goes above or below don't worry)

Then in your power tuning increase the power limit all the way to 50%. Your card won't be drawing 50% more power, you're just increasing the headroom if the cards needs to draw that power, which it really shouldn't tbh.

You shouldn't see any noticeable difference in performance, but what you should see is lower temps and more consistent FPS.

I use an rx 5700 xt Nitro+ and I use these settings and I don't get increased average FPS but my LOW FPS results are higher and remain higher more consistently.

So far doing all of this and undervolting from the pinned comment has fixed my crashing issue, For fan speed/temp I went with Fan Speed 53, 66, 68, 90, 100 Temperature 30, 41, 47, 56, 63. Going to be playing Horizon tomorrow to really see how long i'll last without issue. Thank you so much for the informative fast paced video. I am on Driver 20.4.2

lel spent a ton of cash for the rx5700 xt and then the solution videos are turn off everything you pay for .... Imagine in 2020 paying for something and just hoping it will work. A big L for AMD from me. Going to save up for rtx3080.

it actually worked i think at least 2 hours of playing without any crashes. Thanks a lot

I bought one yesterday hoping it will change my mind to AMD GPU's since I'm already running their processor. However it kept crashing time and time again, like 8 times in 5 hours. I've decided to drop that shit. This has been an issue since July 2019. Imagine a full year! Nah I would rather pay more and less headache with this shit.

I have the xfx rx5700xt. I hate it. It didn’t start out with issues and would reboot me or anything. But I didn’t know when I went to turn pc back on it would say wattman error. I tried updating the drivers and it crashed and won’t even display the screens anymore. I’ve reset the cmos and so forth, turned off quick boot. If I’m able to get it to display again I will try copying these settings. Their software is trash. I will stick to nvidia from now on.

Try to change the Power Setting in the AMD App/Program to +40%, that worked for me! I tryed a lot of combinations with the tuning settings but that helped the best! No crashes since then

I was getting driver timed out too and I got a fix for me anyway, playing all my games on full graphics and not 1 issue related to drivers. I really should make a video about my experience because this really got me down, not being able to find a satisfactory solution to help. This isn't my channels subject content but so many individuals are just in the position that I was in. I really just want to help people. Therefore in short, the frustratingly timed out issue has nothing to do with drivers....it's your HDMI (High definition media interface) or your VGI cable. There's another option for you, trying source on your monitor and watch it link up with your GPU. I couldn't edit any more videos or even run a game without this error occurring. Please let me know if I don't make any sense because I can lend a hand to those who might need the assistance because it's incredibly stressful buying a magnificent expensive PC only for your computer to be taken out by a 0.99 driver related issues and 7.99 HDMI cables. God bless.

Corsair icue caused mine to BSOD within an hour of run time every time. It would make my PC have random USB disconnect sounds on startup. My 5700xt has had no issues at all since, or probably never did... I really don't know.

Maybe this will help someone. I have an MSI B450 tomahawk. Upgraded from a rx580 to the 5700xt. Started getting BSOD while playing modern warfare.
I formatted my hdd and reinstalled everything. Still BSOD.
I went Into my BIOS and noticed there was an "auto overock" feature that was on. Which set my base clock higher for my cpu. AMD ryzen 2600x.
I manually set the value to 3.6ghz and turned off auto over clock.
My processor still boost up to 4.2ghz and I played all night without a single BSOD.
I had already called Newegg about rma... Good thing i dug deeper. Crazy thing is. My rx580 worked for 2 years with those settings but the 5700xt did not like it. Or I was just pushing everything harder with the newer card causing the instability.... Idk
