Bernth is probably the single best shred instructor on all of YouTube. I find some jewel of info in every video he post. I'd give anything if he would do a crawl-sprint style free series on practicing, from how to use a metronome and what to practice with it, to learning your favorite guitar solo starting slow and working your way up to speed. That's where i struggle is when i go to learn something fast, I can't figure out how to practice it at a slower speed along with the solo. Sometimes you can slow a video down and it won't screw the audio, but there's got to be a better way

Something I've noticed about practice is that the exercises are usually much harder than they might seem. There are still exercises that I might fumble at higher tempos, but when I start noodling and playing around after practice, I notice that even what felt like a not-so-good (but not outright bad or wrong) practice session had a net positive impact on developing that skill. I've been doing an alternate picking exercise that I learned from you and even though I feel like I can't get to 80-90 BPM and remain accurate while doing that, my actual alternate picking technique had improved at higher tempos.

I like to throw in the occasional "I had this yesterday, what's the matter with me today"

Wow I didn't think any guitarists practice like how drummers practice.

Thanks for showing what it really looks like. 🤘

I used to spend like 8 hours a day playing the same 2 measures over and over focusing on not tucking pinky, staying close to the fretboard and not pressing my thumb so hard on the fretboard as to require releasing pressure to move I'm talking that's all I did for months totally worth it.
