Greek Mountain Tisane

Показать описание
Sideritis, Ironwort, or Shepherd's Tea, is a high mountain Greek Tisane with thousands of years of history. This batch comes from the legendary Mount Olympus on the Greek mainland and has Organic certification.

Greek Mountain tisane has been used since the ancient Greeks and was traditionally considered a cure for many conditions from digestive to immune. Some scientific studies show that Sideritis indeed does have gastroprotective, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-oxidant effects. There are animal studies showing that it may have a strong neuroprotective effect to prevent cognitive decline. All studies are at the bottom of this description.

As always, we are focussed on taste more than health and we love the Mediterranean high mountain flavours of this tisane. From zesty lemons and oranges to aromatic herbs like oregano and thyme, this tisane captures the aroma of the Greek mountains.

It is a lovely drink to pair with desserts, simultaneously being cleansing and complementary to sweets. Definitely a great Caffeine free alternative to tea for your collection.

I love how this is supposed to be a review of a Tisane but it quikly unravels into a review of a small bakery on some random island in the middle of the Agean.

Wow, this tea is amazing! I really was not expecting this. It's the first tisane I've ever drunk and now it has a permanent place in my tea catalog. I loved the video as well. Cheers!

This is one of the best videos I've seen about a Greek tea/tisane. It's nice to see a lover of tea describing the flavor profile, appearance, origin, and brewing/steeping. Nearly every other video is either someone reading the existing literature or stock images with some odd AI content.

By the way, did you ever make a video on how to make the amazing ginger and black milk tea that I once sampled in you cafe around 14 years ago. You guys got ne addicted to fresh ginger with black tea and milk and now I evangelise on behalf of this amazing life changing zinger of a drink. Love your cafe....came the only once but I will never forget it!

Well guess you are now responsible for finally making me want to go to Greece (my mom loves it and keeps bugging me to go)! Just booked a lovely week long trip to Folegandros this summer after watching this video and the other one you filmed there about happiness :).

If you are in Estonia get down to the new Greek market stall at Balti Jaama Turg they have very reasonably priced bunches of this tisane and it is A grade quality direct from a local mountain source in Greece.

I know you don't add sweeteners to your tea (neither do I) but may I sagest you to add just a 1/4 tsp of a good quality thyme honey. It binds with the lemon taste and the herbal aromas of the tisane so well.

Speaking of Greece. I really enjoy drinking olive leave tisane. I get the dried leaves from an olive farm an hour or two north of me. I really recommend trying it if you can get it. It is similar to long jing or chrysanthemum.

Funny to hear you are on keto, great ! I'm also growing sideritis plants (Sideritis syriaca, S. raeseri, S. cypria). There's a lot of different species. Here in France we have also S. hyssopifolia in the Alps, used as a tea. In Greece they use S. perfoliata, clandestina, syriaca, euboea, and scardica). Very interesting family of plants, and they make a nice tea.
