Explained: A Look Back At India-China Border Dispute As Both Agree On LAC Disengagement

India China Border Fight: India and China have agreed on disengagement and patrolling arrangements along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), more than four years after a military standoff strained bilateral relations. The root of the India-China border dispute lies in undelimited borders, dating back to the 1960s when China, rejecting older agreements, demanded re-negotiation of its frontiers. The disagreement over the LAC spans 3,488 km, with the most contentious areas being Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh. China claims Arunachal Pradesh as part of "South Tibet," while India firmly asserts its sovereignty over the region.
