Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.
1Corinthians 3:11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he builds survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.
I love you Tiff and have the utmost respect for you. I agree to error on the side of caution so no man enter eternal destruction. I think Christians should live their life ready to meet Jesus.
The Bible describes salvation as an event that immediately and irrevocably changes our destiny from eternal separation to eternal life in God's presence. It happens the moment we ask for it in faith, and is made possible through a pardon purchased for us with the blood of God's Son our Lord Jesus. Then comes sanctification, the process of living our lives in submission to the indwelling Holy Spirit.
I am a faithful student of yours and will be as long as God allows me to be on this earth.

The text is a literary device called a litote i.e. a negative emphasis of a positive. Jesus said that all the Father has given He would not lose one. If salvation depends on us, we are back to works and one can never have peace. In Matthew 7, there are those commending themselves on the basis of what they did. If our names were written in the Lamb’s Book of Life before the foundations of the earth and you are then erased, it means God is not omniscient i.e. he didn’t know who is truly saved. If someone professes Christ but shows no fruit, they were never saved to begin with. In 1 John it says that those who went out from them were never of them meaning not true believers. The bottom line is the question how can I know if I have lived a holy enough life to keep my place in the Book of Life and the answer to that is that the righteousness of God is found only in Christ otherwise we are back to Judaism and Catholicism. I cling to Christ and Christ alone because I am a sinner.

It's quite easy to understand. Accept what the text says. The key is to "overcome" Jesus said in Matt 24; he who "continues to the end" will be saved

What I’ve always thought about this verse is .. that everyone’s name when they are born, is written into the book of life. After all it’s the book of life, so then, if that person does not receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior in their lifetime, then their name will be erased, or blotted out 🤷‍♀️. I don’t know just sounds right to me.

Brother Tiff, I have respect for you as a teacher of the Word of God. But I do not base my Salvation on my feelings or what I am comfortable with or what seems like a "safe zone." I base my Salvation on the Word of God and that Word (Christ) can not lie. Regardless of how I feel and my feelings can change daily, God's Word is always truth. Salvation is a gift that can't be earned, it is freely given by God the Father upon our faith in his Son's atoning work on the Cross at Calvary. Jesus didn't just cover our sin with his Blood, he also became our Sin, God the Father turned away from him in that moment on the Cross and allowed it out of his great love for the World. (John 3:16) (2 Cor. 5:21) God is Eternal, all Powerful, Everywhere Present and All Knowing, therefore the day that I accepted Jesus into my heart as my Savior, God the Father already knew every sin I had committed up to that moment in time and every sin I would and will commit until the day I take my last breath. Jesus became every single one of those sins and even every thought that doesn't measure up to the holiness that God would require, on my behalf on Calvary. Once for all! Praise be to our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God! Whom the Son has freed is free indeed! (John 8:36) I am now a child of God, God is my Abba, Daddy, Father and he will not disown me and erase or blot my name out of the Lambs Book of Life. I can be secure in that knowledge! Being Born Again and yet still living in my carnal flesh, I am none the less The Temple of the Holy Spirit. I no longer belong to myself, I belong to God having been bought, purchased with the price of the Blood of his Son, my Savior Jesus Christ. (I Cor. 6:20) Some call this Hyper Grace. I call it AMAZING GRACE! God loves me so much he would rather die than spend eternity without me. If that doesn't seal my Salvation then nothing can. Am I giving license to sin and fall away? Certainly not! We are to Love God with all our heart and our neighbor as ourself. Proof (evidence ) of our Love is our obedience to him. (John 14:15) I will always sin and I will be wrong many many times in my life. God has already forgiven that! Sins past, present and future! (Yes, when The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin we must repent of it in order to remain in right relationship with God our Father. If we don't our sins can have concequences, even our own physical death, but no longer Hell) 1 Cor. 3:15 So, I can only say that here by the Grace of God go I. It is not me but Christ in me! He is enough even though I will never be enough. My favorite scripture verse is 2 Timothy 1:12 "for which cause I also suffer these things; neverthess I am not ashamed. For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that Day." KJV

Thank you for your point of view brother Tiff. Your teachings have helped me grow in my faith and I thank the Lord for bringing your teachings into my life.

I learned from you to cross reference other passages from other parts of the Bible to study a point of view. In doing so for this passage, a couple of passages come to mind. John 10:27, John 6:39-40. I do hold to once saved always saved because of these passages and all of Gods promises throughout the Bible and as you well know, it’s impossible for him to break his promise.

Knowing I cannot lose my salvation only makes me love my God even more. Simone thinking they can lose their salvation has no peace or assurance. The Bible also says we can know that we have eternal life. 1 John 5:13.

Just know for yourself that your works are not what makes you an overcomer! It's the endwelling of the Holy Spirit through Yashua that enables you to be an overcomer. If your salvation is dependent on you, you would surely lose it! Yashua knows We have little strength, he said so! But He is love and He loved us first! And the definition of love is: Doing the thing for someone else that you KNOW they can not do for themselves! And how many times did Yashua show us that?

Wow, this is scripture I always wanted to know about. You were right about trying to look at Google or other sites about questions on the book of life. I read so many different views on it and my heart was not content on those answers. I agree with you on this scripture and I really feel peaceful on what you said. How I read it is if someone who has professed to be a Christian then lives a life totally opposite, God can erase that name. The bible seems to state that a name can be erased…so why is that wording there?
I know none of us is perfect but with the grace and mercy of God, He can and will help us to become over-comers 🤗🙏🏼

Yes I believe yes, if I backslide after repenting and go back into my old ways, but offcause this loving God is not a toy, if we sow in the flesh we reap death, and walk by the Spirit of God reap life, but we know Jesus does forgive, but we must not test God

I believe you, I have a friend that was counseling me on my narcissists husband and she told me that it was not my problem to worry about my husband’s soul . I have been praying for God to change his heart before he passes because it worries me, well last Sunday he died 3 times and they saved him three times, when he came to after the pacemaker was put in him, he was so grateful to be alive and everyone that has visited him has said God still has a purpose for his life . I’m still praying that God can break through his stubbornness and prideful spirit and put God first, me second and, my concern is his soul he is in bad health and going down fast . I thought what she said wasn’t biblical at all, we are to be concerned about all souls not just your family . We have to have enough of God word to discern what people are telling us, we can’t believe everything people say if it doesn’t match Gods word then I will not be trusting their advice . I love the way you explain things from the word, God has given you great wisdom and you have really helped a lot of people bring understanding to scriptures. I’m so glad I found your U tube channel.
