Just shows that Alyson is a genuinely good actress. She’s really good here distinguishing between the two parts. Not just visually but listen to her - all of the nerdy warmth has gone from Willow’s voice.

The fact that this storyline started out about addiction and how it changes people is mind blowing dark willow is a force to be reckoned with but also a sign of what untreated mental illness and addiction can lead to a shell of yourself

I remember watching this on BBC2 at uni and being utterly stunned by Giles' appearance at the end 😮 amazing twist/cliffhanger.

If stopping Willow meant killing her I think Buffy would have done it. I'm sure it would have destroyed her but she probably wouldn't have had any other choice.

I think Cordelia had the most character development with Willow right behind her... Willow was always genuine and capable just lacked confidence while Cordy did a total 180 and became a woman to be proud of in the end just like Willow...
