How to fix time sync errors in Windows 10. Also works for Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1

Any idea what could cause my time to keep on lagging? I am still running windows 7 and I even changed my CMOS battery and I still have the problem?

When I do this the start up type is greyed out and i cant click it. Do you know about this. Is it because I'm not running as administrator?

after doing that when I try to sync it says the peer is unreachable

when i open up the properties everythings grey'd out and i cant even click on anything to change it to automatic or anything in the log in tab either

Like what some other people are having, everything in the Windows Time properties is greyed out and I'm not able to press the Startup Type button to change it from manual to automatic.

There's no service called "Windows Time" on my laptop, and there's no other service with similar name

Worked well on my laptops, such a simple answer when you know what you are doing, as you do. Just didn't work on my desktop, but that's ok, just needed the laptop to work. Thank you so much!
