A very fair review mate given your interest in the period. A good looking book that I'll pick up and use alongside your rules.

A really nice review. We are not playing Hail Caesar but Never min the Billhooks. I think I will order this book and see, what we can adopt from that to our games!

You could put a base of men-at-arms into the centre of your bill-and-bow unit and put the billmen behind as supporting ranks.

Excellent report! I can't wait to see you putting this one on the table, I like the idea of including Mem at Arms in the with the bows, that feels more aligned with the argument that each knight (read man at arms) kept his Retinue with him on the battlefield and fought as a Retinue. The Beaufort mentioned in the book is the middle one, the one that was beheaded at Hexham. Again you have made me want to play some HC! I may buy this just for the read

thanks Martin, was waiting on your review before purchasing so now ordered and fortunately warlord currently have free p&p for orders over $40 to USA. Like the sound of unit organization, I already have my units with men at arms mixed in with bow and bill as that does appear more likely

Looks very good and it will certainly re-ignite my interest in the period and might finally spur me on to get the two Perry armies I have got to make and paint in my stash

Looks like a decent book. I'll have to pick up a copy to motivate myself to finish my Lancastrians

Great review. Will you be reviewing the new Saga Age of Chivalry supplement when it's released? Would love to hear your thoughts on that covering the WOTR.

I’m impressed/relieved. Although I’m unsure about some of the RPG elements, but as you say, you don’t have to use those rules. 6 shots from archers….. even if you have only 3 rounds…. Could be devastating

Looks like a good reference for Hail Caesar, and as you say for the period in general
