One thing they didn't touch on during the Pas Normal Studios segement is this; just becuase they use similar fabrics and MFG as Pas Normal doesn't mean they're the same as their own brand. Each brand is spending different amounts of time desiging the product, honing in the product development, working with the factories to dial in the fit, and quality assurance. These variables differ between each brand and their respective design teams which could mean hundreds of man-hours difference between each jersey between brands.

Just because they use similar fabrics and have cross over in vendors does not make their products the same as any other brand.

I knew a few guys in my home town, who are ambassadors for PNS and are doing heeps to grow the local cycling community. So for that reason i support the company. But also i love the cycling kit (yes im boring)

Spot on. I always use front and rear camera/lights. I chose Cycliq as together with fittings they about 300g to the bike and have all the features you need - including a nice overlay system on recordings showing where 1.5m is in regard to the centre of the bike. Add in a Garmin with radar and you have GPS location of any incident, with speed of vehicle too if needed.
I must say since I have been using the light/cameras I've noticed traffic in general seems less 'aggressive'.

BTW - as of 2024, in England close passing is not specifically illegal, but there are laws that it is linked to (i.e. careless driving) that the driver can be charged with for close passing. The distance is also variable dependant on speed (1m at 20mph; 1.5m at 30mph; etc.)

there is one thing that I value when I buy cycling kits or clothing in general: where it is made.

Can you elaborate more on what you meant at 7:35? Do you guys not control Attacus now? 😢

What are your thoughts on maap cycling kits?
I saw the alt cargo bib shorts and they look amazing, wandering about the price though

Ive used all Rapha, MAAP and PNS along side random brands here and there. The MAAP bibs seems to wear super quickly compared to the PNS / Rapha ...especially on the contact points to the saddle. PNS bibs have lasted much longer and fit my body down there better (their jerseys are also alot shorter than others which dont bunch up around your tummy). So if you buy them on promotion, the cost differential is mitigated, and you get kit that fits.

we need more people riding with cameras for sure. it truly makes it safer for everyone. I personally have been cycling for less than half a year and I ride with a GoPro mounted on my seatpost :)

I once tested Le Col's original foul weather jersey by going out in a storm. The weather was so bad that when I met my dad at the cafe halfway, the cast iron chairs outside were getting blown over in the gale force winds and my dad turned to me to say 'think you best get a lift home, son'. Up until that point, the jersey did it's job in keeping me warm and dry.

I’ve found given the recent years’ run up of prices across the cycling industry, PNS is now not that much different and is in fact cheaper in some cases than Rapha. And as others have mentioned, their archive sales bring things down pretty significantly.

I’m a skinny cycling dude and have tried most brands out there and Pas Normal still has fit me best. Their outerwear is top notch and the Mechanism gear just fits (their silicon grippers on the arms do not move at all, which is amazing).

Not a fan of how mainstream they’ve become but with their own shop in San Francisco now, they definitely have contributed to the scene in its own way, and the people at the shop are super friendly.

The price of everything in cycling has gotten outrageous, but especially the price of kit. Recently, I have taken up running. You spend $150 and you buy the Pinarello Dogma of shoes. Another $30 on some shorts and boom job done.

It’s good that your are raising theses issues about silly pricing but would you have done so when you owned your own company still ?

Pas normal is very expensive. But their sale prices are decent. I have two of their escapism bibs, got them for 135€ (in stead of the normal 270€) and they're the best bibs I've ever owned. But PNS also sells simple jerseys that aren't special in any way for 200+€ so I do agree they're expensive and not exceptional if you consider the entire brand. Same goes for rapha. But there is always something on sale :)
