Getting Great Sound In Sam Broadcaster - Part II

A look at setting up a full sounding preset on the audio processor built into SAM Broadcaster. This is the final setup and the resulting preset. Getting good sound quality from the software is not easy. This is partially because it's complicated and partially because that side of the software is a bit rubbish.

Part 2 sets up a good sounding pop/rock preset with a fairly dense, aggressive sound suitable for flat 80's music and hyper-compression music from today.

The preset created in this tutorial can be download from the folder below...

Remember, this isn't perfect. It's a fairly decent sounding preset using a limited system. I think I'd be happy with this on air.

Thanks for this tutorial. Untill now, when i played several tracks on my show, i notice that the sound was very distorted when enabling the AGC. Now the sound is much clearer.

Thank you SO much for the presets. I've been using SAM Pro to stream sets for parties within various MMO's, and while I'm still learning, I do want to be known for "good sound" because that's what brings the players back for the next get-together.

Thank you so very much, it is unbelievable how fantastic the music sound is, I have found dropping my mic (free standing), on the Voice FX volume down to -6.5db to get the perfect balance, still have the music volume on the decks and Voice FX on -0.9, I used to use Audacity to amplifi my songs, but on the settings that you provided in your video, is no longer needed to go through al the troubles of amplifing the songs.

Hi TDCat I just saw your video's good work, I was able to downloads, your Setting, and I'm testing them now. They are by far better than Sam's. They give me a better reference point to work with. I do occasionally tweak on them for my Station. My Format is Smooth Jazz R&B and Contemporary music. 24/7 on the Internet. My music sounds so much better now that I have some good reference setting. Thanks for your helping us all out. Great Work. I hope we can see more tutorials on Sam Broadcaster. I also use RadioBoss as a backup. It's a good program as well. PS. I hope there's a Part 3 in the Works. lol

I keep having to click the Voice FX config button, then hit the OK button, in order to get the mic to go OTA, any idea why this is? I see in the SPACIAL forums it has to do with not having the Voice FX AGC right (and the explanation isn't there either), with so many controls though how is one supposed to figure it out? And why isn't it set to this as default?

Really appreciate the video! A small tip, when you are adjusting the different settings it would really help if you give the exact setting while you are doing it. I'm using two screens with your video on the left and SB on the right video. I keep having to rewind the video to watch where you are setting the eq. while trying to keep up with the adjustment. Using the mouse to get the exact setting takes a couple moments...lol Thanks!

Hi! Wonderful presets. Thank You very much indeed. But You made 2 variants. So, what kind of sound do You prefer much better, dense or less dense, in 1st or 2nd preset? I would like to know Your opinion.
