L2QA (Learn To Quality Assurance) Part 1 - Blackbox Testing

Throughout the last ten years or so, any time I've told someone I work as a QA tester for a video game company, they always seem jealous that I get to play games all the time. Well....this short video series is to explain what it's like to be a tester at a game company.

This episode is focused on what it's like to be a "black box" tester. The end-user's perspective.

Episode 2 focuses more on the functions of a "white box/grey box" or "embedded" tester.

Episode 3 focused more on the 'unofficial' tester. This tester joins in open/closed Alpha or Beta tests.

Amazing series, I just got a job as a QA Compliance Lead in a big game company and coming from the FinTech industry I wanted to enrich my knowledge before diving in. These helped a lot! A lot of the information I seemed to already know or expect to be the case, but it's great to confirm from an inside man. Also, very well articulated with good examples. Maybe the biggest thing I got out of these videos is about giving positive feedback as well. You won't find that in any job characteristics or job descriptions, but it must have an enormous impact on proper dev-QA relations!

As of about 20:30, there's a buzzing in the audio, but this is a video! I love it! The other thing that'd fall under patience is the fact you have to keep doing the same thing over and over when you have to reproduce said bug you've created!
