Global registration for the Tesla Model 3 opened more than three years ago. At the time, more than 325,000 people put their names – and their deposits – down. Deliveries of the Model 3 have been happening in North America for nearly a year now, but this is the first time the Model 3 has been seen in the UK. UK deliveries are expected to start from mid-2019.

Digital Editor Rachael Hogg, has been to have a look at one of the left-hand-drive models in Tesla’s Park Royal store in London – along with a lot of Model 3 customers getting a first glimpse of the car they put their names down for in 2015.

Spec details have also been released for the UK models, including 0-62 times, top speed, and WLTP range.

It’s such a nice car to drive! Precise direction, instant torque and minimalist interior design! I got mine three weeks ago and I’m lovin’ it!

That's so affordable. I love it. For only 65k I can finally afford to buy my dream car. I'll have to sell my left kidney first, my front teeth, my good knee, all of my worldy possessions and re-join the life of crime and drug dealing to be able to afford one in 2035. Well done Tesla. You've done it. Finally an electric car for the masses and average people.

An interesting ev, looks the part, minimalist styling, clean lines and tech loaded, first saw the US spec one at Goodwood, impressed after sitting in it.

Basically you cumulate the monthly payments of ICE and fuel cost and transfer all this to Tesla

Nice coverage. Thanks! Good content and presentation.

Model 3 is an outstandingly good car. Drive one and see!

Warning: don't drive Model 3 Performance or you may need to get one. It's ridiculously good.

So, the long range version costs $49k in US but £55k in UK? Doesn't pounds values more than dollars?

It’s actually 3.3 sec to 0 60 for performance model 3 and it’s 310 mile range .. learn the car before you make a misleading information on it .

So where has the 35k car gone! That was the whole point of the model 3...why spent 60k on a small model 3 when you can get a use model x for the same price and model s even cheaper

How can you tell the difference from performance to non performance versions? Not seeing labeling in back, It's a little strange when bragging rights sells.

The $35 base model is forecast to be available in the US by mid 2019 ...does that mean it will available in the uK soon after? What is the guesstimate for the £ price?

miles per hour, uses litres for trunk space, choose one please. and list the other too atleast.

Hmm. Isn't it the case that in the US the performance model 3 does 0-60 in 3.3 sec? Why is it 3.7 sec in the UK?

So, a car that was supposed to compete with the Mondeo/A4 etc is over £70, 000 for the autopilot version which is the one everyone will actually want to buy (its a £6k premium on top of either version)

To get it anywhere near the £30, 000 mark ($35k) they would have to strip every single cool feature off the car, which kind of defies the point in buying one.

I LOVE Telsa, but I've gotta say they are well wide of the mark on this car.... its a 'peoples car' that no normal people can afford :(

Good car but why is this UK-spec vehicle with the controls on the wrong side?

Why make the body shape like a hatchback and then give it an impractical sedan trunk?

If it costs as much as a model S... why buy it?
